Tree of Giving

The “Tree of Giving” is an opportunity for the community to assist families in need of some cheer this holiday season, who live in the Boothbay Region. In 2025 we helped 29 families and 65 children with an opportunity to experience a joyful holiday season.

Timeline for 2026

  • October 26th: Applications for families available (online or mailed to families who participated last season)

November 6th: Application from families due to the Y

November 23rd: Tags made available on the Y's holiday tree in the lobby (must be checked out at the front desk)

December 15th : Wrapped gift returned to the Y for sorting and delivery to families

December 21st: Gifts ready for pick up by families

If you wish to purchase a gift for a child in need, gift tags will be available between November 23 through December 1 at the Y and other locations within the community. Community members and groups are invited to stop by the Y, choose tags off the tree, purchase the items, wrap them and return them with the tags to the Y by Tuesday, December 15th.

Families will be able to pick up gifts from the front desk starting on Monday, December 16th.

The Boothbay Region YMCA offers this program in partnership with local schools, businesses, churches, town offices, and the Community Navigator.
