Mission Statement
To strengthen Christian principles and the universal values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body.
Vision Statement
The Boothbay Region YMCA is at the heart of our community, connecting us to each other and available to all. Our YMCA will support individuals and families with programs that build character and promote well-being on a lifelong basis.
Volunteers
Did you know that in 2009, the Boothbay Region YMCA had 331 volunteers who gave over 7,000 hours of their time to the YMCA? Wouldn’t you like to join this happy bunch and help out?
We have several opportunities for volunteers coming up in the next few months. If you would like to be a volunteer, please come into the Y and fill out a Volunteer Application form at the Front Desk, or contact Helen Meserve, Volunteer Coordinator at 633 5666 or hmeserve@gmail.com.
The HELP WE NEED:
1) Office Help
2) Front Desk volunteers to work from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, Thursday or Friday.
3) One volunteer to help Rachel Edwards design and execute attractive bulletin boards in the front desk area. Let your creative juices flow……
4) A volunteer willing to file and do clerical work.
5) A volunteer well versed in the Internet to create and put up new pages on the YMCA website.
6) Volunteers willing to work as ‘ambassadors’ or greeters, monitoring the halls and helping folks find their way around the YMCA buildings.
7) SPORTS PROGRAMS: Contact Morgan Dorsey 633 2855 or mdorsey@brymca.org
8) Two or three more volunteers are needed for the swim team through March. Officials help run the meets, start races, time the races, etc. every weekend from October to March. Help finish off the season with a bang! Volunteers are also needed for fundraising, the concession stand, pie sales, etc.
9) The Basketball Clinic runs from March 6-8, with teams coming from all over the region. Neal Verge runs the clinic, and needs volunteers to run clocks, a door person working anywhere from 2 hours to all day long, and volunteers to supply food after the clinic.
10) Floor Hockey for 4th to 6th graders will be held in February and March. Volunteers are needed to supervise and run the clock.
